Jamesar1--

While I understand your sentiment, there are very specific procedures that need to be followed for that to happen.

A board member could resign...but in that case, the remaining board members would appoint a replacement. If the entire board were to resign, then an election would be scheduled...but elections are expensive, by and large.

If the residents are truly dissatisfied with the board, they can do a recall...however, you cannot recall a director that has been in office for less than 6 months, so the only members you could recall are Jan Pizzi or Jen Barber until June. At that time, all directors are subject to recall...however, by then you are less than a year out from the regular election (May 2010).

As far as Jan and Jennifer appointing themselves, that's not correct. Both of them were elected, so they did not need to appoint themselves to the board--they were already on the board. The only appointments that were done were for the 3 new board members.

I believe that there needs to be a new election to pick the officers of the board. Jan Pizzi nominated Jennifer Barber and Jennifer Barber nominated Jan Pizzi. They both seconed the motion and both voted for the nomination. Smells like rotten fish to me. To make it fair, reopen the nomination process for the board positions and at the same time require the board members to sign a conflict of interest statement. If they are not affraid to do so.
