Greetings! If you are visiting this site, you are probably looking to learn more about the issues facing Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District. I’ve created this to try and provide a factual approach to this subject.
I updated this page on 10 July 2009. Prior to this date, this page looked like this:
| This website used to be called “Woodmen Hills Recall”, and my goal at that time was to try and understand both sides of the issue. Having been involved in numerous meetings, gatherings, official board meetings, and conversations with board members, I have decided that a recall — at least at this point — is not warranted. We have 3 new board members…let’s give them a chance, see what they can accomplish. There are some that want to remove the 2 existing board members immediately; there are some that want to recall all 5 come June (the earliest that the new members will be recalled).
In my honest opinion, this would be unwarranted. Here’s my thinking: A recall is expensive, both from the initiator’s and the district’s perspective. The district already has a regularly-scheduled election in May of 2010, in which the three new members will stand for continuance (or reelection), and one member cannot run again (term-limited). If, at that point, the thought is that the remaining member should be recalled, it could be added to the ballot at relatively little cost. In the meantime, I would ask you to get involved! Don’t take answers that don’t have all the facts, don’t take anyone’s opinion as fact, find out for yourself! Read the statutes, read the service plan, read the budgets, read the meeting minutes. Get involved with a committee! If you do nothing, then you have made your choice, have you not? If you would like to contact me directly, please click here to send me an email. |
If you’ve been reading my website, you will notice a change in my attitude, and I believe this page sums it all up.
At this point I feel we must do something to get this district back on track. If you cannot work within the system, you must change the system…or succumb to apathy. Which route are YOU taking?

I still have a problem maybe you can explain. The boardsets the wages of the employees. The DM has a salary of 130k. From the board, his responsibility was decreased by 38%. Why was his salary not decreased by the same percentage? All salaries in the district are too high. Why?
